Cannes Cinéma presents The Passion of Joan of Arc
Carl Theodor Dreyer's "The Passion of Joan of Arc" is showing 8 December at 8:30 p.m. at the famous Debussy Theatre in the heart of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. Accompanying the film is Jo van den Booren's music interpreted by a 43-member orchestra. The event is organized by Cannes Cinéma in connection with the 23rd Rencontres Cinématographiques de Cannes.
New essay about Dreyer
Roos about Dreyer: The Danish cinematographer and documentarist Jørgen Roos (1922-1998) worked closely together with Dreyer on several occasions and made the documentary 'Carl Th. Dreyer' in 1966. This essay about Dreyer is part of Roos’ memoirs and has never been published before. We are very grateful to Roos’ son, cinematographer Peter Roos, for letting us publish this essay on the Carl Th.
